Equal AI has raised $30 million in a fresh funding round co-led by Prosus Ventures and Tomales Bay Capital. The round attracted a strong lineup of investors and industry names, signaling growing confidence in consumer AI products built specifically for Indian users.

Equal AI was founded by Keshav Reddy and originally operated as a data sharing and identity infrastructure company. The startup changed direction in October 2025, entering the consumer artificial intelligence space with the launch of what it positions as India’s first AI call assistant. The product is built to help users deal with spam calls, figure out who is calling, understand the purpose behind incoming calls, and carry out certain actions on behalf of the user.

Growing Fast in the Consumer AI Space

Since its pivot, the company has built a notable user base. Equal AI says it has now crossed 1 million monthly active users and 350,000 daily active users. That scale puts it among the largest consumer AI voice products developed in India, according to the company.

With fresh capital in hand, Equal AI appears well positioned to deepen its product and expand its reach in a market where AI powered communication tools are gaining serious traction.
