Hyundai Motor Company and TVS Motor Company Team Up to Build Electric Three-Wheelers for India.

Hyundai Motor Company and TVS Motor Company have come together under a Joint Development Agreement to co-develop electric three-wheelers built specifically for India’s last-mile connectivity needs. The partnership moves beyond the E3W concept that both companies had showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, now shifting gears toward actual product development and mass production.

The two companies plan to combine their respective strengths in electric mobility and engineering to deliver vehicles suited to Indian road conditions and city infrastructure. A strong emphasis has been placed on local manufacturing, with component production being built up within India to lower vehicle costs, generate employment, and ensure reliable after-sales service across the country.

The electric three-wheeler being developed will come equipped with adaptive ground clearance, improved safety systems, ergonomic design, and thermal management technology. It will also offer flexible configurations, making it suitable for passenger transport, goods delivery, and emergency service use cases.

Through this collaboration, both companies aim to build sustainable and scalable last-mile mobility solutions not just for India but potentially for other markets as well.
