Portkey Raises $15 Million in Series A to Power Enterprise AI Infrastructure

As businesses move beyond experimenting with AI and begin relying on it for critical operations, the demand for tools that keep those systems running smoothly has never been greater. Portkey, a startup building infrastructure for production-grade AI, has secured $15 million in Series A funding to meet that demand head-on.

The company operates as a control layer for AI deployments, sitting between businesses and the models they use. Its platform handles over 120,000 daily requests across more than 1,600 AI models, giving organizations a single place to manage routing, enforce usage policies, track costs, and monitor performance in real time.

Portkey has grown to serve more than 24,000 enterprises globally, including major names like Postman and Snorkel AI, and counts Fortune 500 companies in healthcare, finance, pharmaceuticals, and tech among its clients. In total, the platform manages more than $180 million in annualized AI spend on behalf of its customers.

With this fresh capital, Portkey plans to accelerate its go-to-market efforts, strengthen governance features for agentic AI workflows, and scale its gateway infrastructure. The company also announced it will make its core enterprise gateway available for free, lowering the barrier for teams that need governance and observability tools regardless of their budget.

The round was backed by Elevation Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
