India-based social impact startup PadCare has raised $3 million in a Pre-Series A funding round, strengthening its mission to build organized infrastructure for sanitary waste recycling across the country. The round was backed by mission-driven investors including Rainmatter by Zerodha, 3one4 Capital, Brigade REAP, Pratul Shroff, and existing investors such as 3i Partners and Lavni Ventures.
The idea behind the company emerged from a critical observation of how sanitary waste was being handled in India often burned, buried, or discarded without proper systems, accountability, or environmental safeguards. Recognizing the absence of a structured recycling ecosystem, the company set out to develop technology-driven solutions that ensure safe collection, processing, and recycling of menstrual hygiene waste.
Since its inception, the platform has expanded significantly and now serves more than 700 organizations across 24 cities. Its operational focus has remained on building compliant, measurable, and scalable waste-management systems aligned with ESG standards, helping institutions manage sanitary waste responsibly while staying ahead of regulatory requirements.
The newly raised capital will enable the company to strengthen its infrastructure, accelerate expansion into additional cities, and enhance recycling capabilities. Leadership emphasized that the funding milestone represents not just growth, but an increased responsibility to customers, partners, and the broader ecosystem working to solve overlooked environmental challenges.
Despite early operational challenges and uncertain phases during its growth journey, the startup credits its progress to sustained customer trust, a committed team, and a strong belief in solving a long-ignored sanitation problem through structured innovation. With fresh capital and expanding partnerships, the company aims to further scale its impact while continuing to focus on long-term environmental sustainability.
