Space technology startup SatLabs Space Systems has secured $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Finvolve and India Accelerator.

The fresh capital will be used to advance the company’s low-Earth orbit (LEO) data relay satellite program and strengthen its engineering and mission operations teams.

The startup plans to utilize the funding to carry out technology demonstrations for its satellite-based data relay systems, while also accelerating system testing, integrations, and readiness for on-orbit deployment. SatLabs aims to develop an indigenous LEO relay layer that enables near real-time data transmission, supporting applications across Earth observation, IoT networks, and mission-critical infrastructure.

The company also acknowledged the support of the IITM Incubation Cell and IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation in helping scale its early-stage innovation and infrastructure development.
