Sohini, a 17 year old creator and entrepreneur from Kolkata, is building a bootstrapped startup that is currently generating around ₹3 lakh in monthly sales. The journey started with an investment of just ₹5,000 and has grown steadily over the past eight months. The idea came from Sohini’s experience as a content creator. Influencers often receive a large number of PR packages from brands, and many of these products end up unused. Instead of letting them go to waste, Sohini started working on a platform where creators can sell their extra or unused PR products directly to people who actually want them.
The platform works as a bridge between influencers and consumers. Creators can list products they receive through PR, and people can discover and buy those products in a more accessible way. At the same time, the model also addresses the growing problem of overconsumption in the influencer industry by giving these products a second life instead of letting them sit unused.
The startup is completely bootstrapped and built without any external funding. Sohini has been managing the idea, marketing, creator outreach, and operations while also continuing her studies. By using social media and creator networks, the platform has been able to grow organically and build a small but engaged community.
Looking ahead, Sohini plans to scale the platform by onboarding more creators and building a larger ecosystem where influencers, brands, and consumers can interact in a more sustainable and transparent way. The long term vision is to make product discovery more community driven while reducing unnecessary waste in the creator economy.
