JoulestoWatts Business Solutions Pvt Ltd has brought in Priya Mohan as its new Chief Operating Officer. Mohan describes the move as a deeply considered decision, one driven by a genuine desire to take on a challenging and meaningful role.
Before joining JoulestoWatts, she spent seven years in the venture capital world, working with Venture Highway and later General Catalyst India. During this time, she closely observed how companies approached AI, and where they fell short. She noticed that most founders could raise money on the back of strong AI plans, but struggled to actually put those plans into action.
Her view is that the real problem was never the technology. It was the lack of context, poor execution, and no clear ownership of outcomes.
At JoulestoWatts, she will work with founder Priti Sawant to help over 300 Global Capability Centres actually implement AI, not just plan for it.
She also points to a larger opportunity in India’s GCC space. The sector currently has over 1,700 captive centres, employs close to 1.9 million people, and generates $65 billion in exports, a number expected to nearly double in the coming years. The shift happening now is that multinational companies are moving beyond using India as a cost-saving base and are building genuine AI and engineering capabilities here.
Mohan believes JoulestoWatts is built exactly for this moment
