Eternal has announced a significant leadership transition at the group level. Founder and current Group CEO Deepinder Goyal will step away from day-to-day executive responsibilities, while continuing to remain deeply involved with the company as Vice Chairman of the Board, subject to shareholder approval.

As part of this transition, Albinder Dhindsa has been appointed as Eternal’s new Group CEO and will take charge of day-to-day execution, operating priorities, and business decisions across the group.
Why This Change Is Happening
In a detailed note to shareholders, Goyal explained that he has increasingly been drawn toward exploring new, high-risk ideas that are better pursued outside the structure of a public company. He emphasized that Eternal, as a listed entity, requires disciplined focus and a clearly defined risk profile.
According to Goyal, the expectations both legal and operational of leading a public company in India demand singular attention. This leadership change allows Eternal to stay sharply focused on its core business, while also giving him the flexibility to explore ideas that fall outside the company’s strategic scope.
What Remains Unchanged
Despite the change in title, Deepinder Goyal emphasized that his long-term commitment to Eternal remains strong. After nearly 18 years of building the company, he will continue to play an active role in shaping its long-term strategy, culture, leadership development, and standards of ethics and governance. Goyal also noted that his close working relationship with Albinder Dhindsa and other senior leaders remains unchanged. Eternal’s decentralized operating model, which allows individual businesses to function with full autonomy, will continue as it has in the past.
What Changes Going Forward
With this transition, the center of gravity for operational decision-making moves fully to Albinder Dhindsa. As Group CEO, Dhindsa will oversee execution across Eternal’s businesses and drive the company’s next phase of growth.
Goyal praised Dhindsa’s leadership, noting that Blinkit’s journey from acquisition to breakeven happened under his stewardship. He credited Dhindsa with building strong teams, supply chains, and execution capabilities, calling him more than capable of leading Eternal forward.
Blinkit remains Eternal’s largest growth opportunity and will continue to be Dhindsa’s top priority.
