Emergent, a company building what its founder calls the operating system for businesses, has announced a 130 million dollar Series C funding round. The new investment values the company at 1.5 billion dollars.
The round was led by Creaegis, with MNI Ventures, Claypond Capital, and Sentinel Global joining as co lead investors. Other participants included Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator.
Mukund Jha, Founder and CEO of Emergent, explained that most businesses do not actually need more software. Instead, he said, what they need is a way to convert how they already operate into a working digital system. This idea forms the core of what Emergent has been building.
According to Jha, the company has now crossed a major milestone with over 12 million apps built on its platform. He described this stage as a shift for Emergent, moving from simply helping people build software to becoming the underlying layer that businesses depend on to run daily.
Jha credited the company’s progress not just to the funding, but to the small business owners who used and shaped the product early on. He shared a few examples to illustrate this impact.
A car detailing business in Florida rebuilt its website and booking system in just four days using Emergent, which led to a 35 percent increase in leads. A roofing company in Ohio was able to replace five separate tools with a single command center, saving around 22,000 dollars every year. In Canada, a meal prep business founder built his own custom operating system for close to 10,000 dollars, compared to an estimated 200,000 dollars it would have cost otherwise. That business is now generating around 120,000 dollars in monthly revenue.
Jha said these are the kinds of results that have shaped the direction of the company since its early days.
In his announcement, Jha specifically thanked the small business owners, founders, and entrepreneurs who trusted Emergent early on. He noted that these users pushed the product forward, tested its limits, requested new features, and ultimately helped define what Emergent has become today.
With this new funding and valuation, Emergent appears focused on expanding its reach among small and medium sized businesses looking for simpler, more affordable ways to digitize their operations. The company’s growth, backed by a strong group of investors, signals continued momentum in the space of business focused software tools.
