Mumbai based streetwear brand Bonkers Corner has closed a Rs 95 crore Series A funding round, equivalent to approximately $10.5 million, in what marks the most significant financial milestone in the young brand’s journey so far. The round was led by India SME Investments Fund, with participation from Radhakrishna Ramnarain Private Limited, well known Shark Tank judge Namita Thapar, and a broad group of more than 20 additional investors. The strong investor turnout reflects growing confidence in India’s homegrown D2C fashion space and in Bonkers Corner’s particular position within it.
Bonkers Corner was founded in 2020 by Shubham Gupta, making it a relatively young brand that has managed to carve out a recognisable identity in a short period of time. The brand operates entirely on a direct to consumer model, selling its products straight to shoppers without going through traditional retail intermediaries. This approach gives the brand greater control over pricing, customer experience, and how it presents itself to its audience.
The product range spans both men’s and women’s fashion, covering a wide variety of casual and streetwear styles. From oversized graphic tees and hoodies to gym wear, sweatshirts, and co-ord sets, Bonkers Corner has built a catalogue that speaks directly to younger Indian consumers who gravitate toward relaxed, expressive clothing that blends comfort with personality.
Finding Its Place in India’s Streetwear Boom
India’s streetwear segment has been growing steadily, driven by a younger demographic that is increasingly fashion conscious and comfortable shopping online. Bonkers Corner has managed to tap into this trend with a product offering that feels relevant to that audience without being priced out of reach.
The brand’s direct to consumer structure also means it has been able to build a closer relationship with its customers, gathering real time feedback and responding to demand in ways that traditional fashion brands with longer retail cycles often cannot. This agility is one of the key advantages of the D2C model and has been central to how Bonkers Corner has built its following.
With Rs 95 crore now secured, Bonkers Corner is in a strong position to move its operations up to the next level. The capital is expected to help the brand scale meaningfully and reinforce its standing in what is a highly competitive Indian fashion market. Whether that means expanding its product lines, investing in marketing and brand building, or strengthening its supply chain and fulfilment capabilities, the brand now has the financial foundation to pursue growth more aggressively than it could before.
