Bigbasket has brought in Arpit Jaiswal to lead its growth function as Chief Growth Officer. The appointment comes at a time when the Tata-owned platform is pushing harder to hold its ground in India’s fast-moving online grocery and quick commerce market.
Jaiswal spent close to 15 years at Google, with his most recent stint being at Google Pay India. There, he handled user growth at scale, built acquisition channels through partnerships and AI-based tools, and kept a close eye on profitability and cost efficiency. He also holds a degree from IIM Ahmedabad.
In his new position, he will be responsible for bringing in new users, keeping existing ones engaged, and taking the platform deeper into both metro cities and smaller markets. He will also work on product direction and making the business more financially efficient.
Alongside this hire, Bigbasket also elevated its engineering head Keshav Kumar to the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer, pointing to a broader rejig at the leadership level.
Founder and CEO Hari Menon called this a pivotal moment for the company and said Jaiswal’s experience in building scalable consumer platforms would be key to strengthening Bigbasket’s position going forward.
