Lab Grown Diamond Brand Aukera Secures Rs 90 Crore in Debt Funding to Fuel Nationwide Expansion

Aukera Grown Diamond Jewellery, a lab grown diamond jewellery brand, has raised Rs 90 crore (around $10 million) in debt funding. The round was led by Alteria Capital, an investor that has previously backed the company. This latest funding pushes Aukera’s total capital raised to $28.2 million since its founding.

Founded in 2023 by Lisa Mukhedkar and Kumar Saurabh, Aukera has positioned itself at the intersection of luxury and sustainability, offering fine jewellery made from lab grown diamonds through both online and offline channels.

Aukera began its journey with a small number of stores in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi NCR. Since then, the brand has grown its retail footprint significantly, expanding from 13 to 35 company owned stores. The company has also entered newer markets, including Pune, Lucknow, Dehradun, and Vizag, signaling a broader push beyond metro cities into emerging urban centers.

A key part of Aukera’s growth strategy has been its omnichannel first model, which combines physical retail stores with a digital presence to reach customers across different shopping preferences. This approach appears to be central to how the brand plans to scale further, allowing it to build trust through in store experiences while also capturing online demand for lab grown diamond jewellery, a category that has been gaining traction among younger, value conscious buyers.

With the fresh capital in hand, Aukera has set its sights on becoming a Rs 1,000 crore brand. The company’s founders believe that combining sustainable sourcing with luxury positioning can help the brand stand out in India’s competitive jewellery market, where lab grown diamonds are increasingly being seen as an ethical and more affordable alternative to mined diamonds.

The funding also reflects growing investor confidence in the lab grown diamond space within India, as consumers become more conscious about sustainability without wanting to compromise on style or quality.

Aukera’s latest funding round marks another step forward in its mission to make sustainable luxury jewellery more accessible across India. With an expanding store network and a clear vision for scale, the brand is positioning itself as a serious player in the country’s evolving fine jewellery landscape.
