Vetic, a pet healthcare startup, has raised 40 million dollars in a funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The announcement was shared by founder Gaurav Ajmera, who spoke about the journey behind building the company and its plans for the future.

According to Ajmera, the idea for Vetic came from a very personal experience. While searching for proper healthcare for his cat Simba, he realised how difficult it was to find quality medical care for pets in India. That search eventually turned into a larger mission, to build healthcare for pets that matches the same standards expected for humans.

Over the past four years, Vetic has worked on creating a connected ecosystem for pet care rather than offering just one type of service. The platform brings together clinics, diagnostics, emergency care, pharmacy, pet food, virtual consultations, wellness plans, insurance, and Vet at Home services, all combined into a single, seamless experience for pet owners.

The new funding round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with continued backing from existing investors Greenoaks, Lachy Groom, and JSW Ventures. As per Ajmera, this investment will be used to expand Vetic’s clinic network, scale up its home healthcare services, strengthen its technology and AI capabilities, and make reliable pet care accessible to a much wider base of families across the country.

Ajmera also expressed gratitude toward the veterinarians, nurses, operators, investors, and pet parents who have supported Vetic throughout its journey, calling their trust an important part of building the company.

Ajmera was clear about how he sees Vetic’s identity. He stated that the company is not aiming to simply build a chain of clinics, but rather a full healthcare platform built specifically for pets, with the same level of seriousness and quality usually associated with human healthcare systems.

With fresh capital now in place, Vetic is set to expand its services further, aiming to make trustworthy and accessible pet healthcare available to many more families across India in the coming years.
