Zomato Raises Platform Fee to Rs 14.9 Per Order as Company Pushes for Higher Margins

Zomato users may have noticed a slightly higher charge on their recent orders. The food delivery platform has revised its fixed per-order fee upward, now collecting Rs 14.9 compared to the Rs 12.5 it was charging until recently, a jump of nearly one-fifth in the fee amount.

This charge sits outside delivery costs and taxes, meaning customers pay it regardless of what else is added to their bill. At Zomato’s scale of operations, even a small uptick in this number adds up to a significant sum across its total daily order volume.

The company has been on a gradual path of increasing this fee over the last year or so, having moved it up multiple times since late 2025. The pattern suggests Zomato is leaning on this mechanism as a dependable way to pad revenues during a period when rapid growth in food delivery is no longer a given.
