Prabhkiran Singh, the man behind one of India’s most recognizable youth fashion brands, has announced his departure from Bewakoof, a company he co-founded at just 21 years old and led for over a decade.
The story began in 2011 when two young engineers with no business background launched a small venture from a cramped room in a Mumbai slum. At a time when D2C brands were unheard of and funding was hard to come by, the duo built the business ground up, personally handling deliveries and customer support in the early days.
Over the years, that humble beginning transformed into something remarkable. Bewakoof grew into a brand shipping over 20,000 orders daily, crossed ₹100 crore in annual revenue, and cultivated a loyal online community of more than 6 million followers, becoming the first D2C fashion startup in India to achieve that revenue milestone.
Prabhkiran shared that after 14 years of intense building, he feels it is the right time to step back and focus on his health, family, and personal priorities that had taken a backseat. He will continue leading the company until the end of March before formally transitioning out.
On the business side, Bewakoof is well-positioned for its next chapter, backed by TMRW and the Aditya Birla Group, with a strong leadership team already in place to carry it forward.
